What Vodarevu Beach is like

Vodarevu was once a minor port and is today primarily a fishing town. Boats land the catch on the sand, nets and fish dry along the shore, and the air carries the smell of the sea and the harvest. If you expect a manicured resort beach you may be surprised, and if you like real coastal life you will probably love it.

Coconut trees line the shore, which makes the early-morning light especially photogenic.

Things to do at Vodarevu Beach

• Walk at sunrise. The coast faces east, so the sun comes up over the water.
• Watch the boats come in. Fishing is the village's lifeblood, and the morning landing is the busiest time.
• Try a boat ride or fishing. District tourism listings mention boat rides, fishing and water sports. Availability and prices vary, so ask and agree on rates first.
• Photograph the shoreline. Palms, boats and open sky make good frames.
• Visit the lighthouse area. Local travel listings include the Vodarevu lighthouse among the sights nearby. Check access and timings on the day.

How far is Vodarevu Beach from Chirala?

Where to stay near Vodarevu Beach
